What we keep, and why.

This website collects as little as it can. Here is all of it, in plain words.

When you fill in a form

The booking and join forms ask for your name, email address and city, and, if you choose to give them, your phone number, organisation and a message. We use these only to reply to you and to plan a session, or your volunteering, with you.

We never sell them, share them with advertisers or add you to a mailing list.

Where it is kept

Each message is saved in our database (Supabase) and emailed to the ByteByByte team inbox, sent through Resend. We send you one email back to confirm it arrived.

To stop spam, we also keep a scrambled one-way code made from your internet address. It cannot be turned back into the address, and it is deleted after a day.

How long we keep it

We keep form messages while we are in touch with you about a session or volunteering, and never longer than two years. Then we delete them.

Cookies and tracking

This website sets no cookies. We count visits with Vercel Web Analytics, which uses no cookies and does not identify you.

The site is hosted by Vercel, whose servers keep standard technical logs for a short time.

Photos

The photos on this site are from our own sessions. If you are in one and want it taken down, email us and we will remove it.

If you are under 18

Many of our volunteers are students. If you are under 18, please tell a parent or guardian before you send us your details.

Your choices

You can ask to see what we hold about you, to correct it, or to have it deleted. Email bytebybyteinitiative@gmail.com and we will do it within 30 days.
